Friends helping friends And especially if it saves you money. I have a good friend that is on the management team at Mid-America Motorworks and he has offered our club a discount on group orders. So, if you see something you need in their catalogue and have a buddy with shopping to do, team up and we can see what savings may be available. Also, go to their website at www.mamotorsports.com and click on the Corvette on the opening page at the bottom of the left hand column, on the second page you will see “Free Email Newsletter Sign-Up”. Enter your e-mail address (they do not sell or trade e-mails) and click on subscribe. You will be on their list for internet specials that do not appear in their catalogue. They offer big savings on special buys, clearances, etc. that are only offered for limited times. You can also get a copy of their free catalogue at the website.
Summer is rapidly approaching and with it the Corvettes will be getting more road time. That means the old ozone will be attacking your weather stripping. Get a tube of silicon grease, rub it into the rubber, and then wipe down with a clean cloth or soft paper towel. Now you are good to go for another season.
Have you ever considered using a buffer to polish and wax your Corvette but got a little intimidated by the use or cost of one? I will be glad to show you how to use one and I have an internet company that sells them for half the cost you see advertised in Corvette magazines and aftermarket catalogues. Sure makes that detailing chore a lot easier.
If you find yourself with nothing to do on June 6-7, the Myrtle Beach Corvette Club is hosting its All Corvette Show on that weekend. Check out all the particulars at www.myrtlebeachcorvetteclub.com .
A new internet site has just come to my attention. Try www.partsforyourcar.com for all kinds of C5/C6 parts.
